Statement of Policy

Mensa of Wisconsin Foundation, Inc. is a philanthropic, non-profit, tax-exempt, IRS Sec. 501c(3), organization with the purpose of awarding dedication, achievement and excellence in Wisconsin. Awards and scholarship are bestowed without distinction to race, creed, national origin, sex, education or social status.

Endowment for the Foundation was created, and is being continued, by Mensa of Wisconsin, Inc. (which, in turn, is affiliated with American Mensa, Ltd.) and by public donations and fundraising.

Until a sufficient amount of endowment is achieved, all donations (with exception of targeted donations) are applied directly to that fund to assist in the generation of investment income. Awards and our low expenses are paid from such income. Our funding sources are private donors, memorials, tributes, corporate contributions and fundraising events and projects.

All directors and associate members serve on a volunteer basis.
